How I Plan to Read More This Month

Image
I will be the first to admit that I am not an avid reader. Gosh, I wish that I was. Reading has so many benefits. I will write for days but reading is like pulling teeth. When I was in college I barely skimmed through the material; hoping that I would pick up whatever it was that I needed to know for the exam. In March I plan to try my hardest to get through one book. One book may be nothing for some people but for me this will be a challenge. First, I cannot sit still for very long periods. I've always been like this even before I had my daughter Alora. Now sitting still is not really an option while chasing her down. So finding time is a factor. Another factor that I've found that poses a challenge is finding a genre that I enjoy. This will be a journey that I know will not happen over night, but I've come up with a game plan to help me get started in March. This month I will be reading How to Be an Overnight Success by Maria Hatzistefanis. Look at the cover.

What I've Learned in My First 6 Weeks of Blogging

Image
Happy Monday! This week's post is about what I have learned in my first few weeks of blogging.  I have a very long way to go but I wanted to share a few key points that I've taken away from starting The Kelley Log. I hope you find this helpful. Be Yourself It is so inspiring to look around for blog ideas, but ultimately your blog is yours. It should be a reflection of yourself whatever your niche may be. Stick to what you know and love. It is easy to veer off on tangents in order to create content, but ultimately you're responsible for what your blog is saying. It is very enjoyable to read on topics that someone is knowledgable about. That is how you attract an authentic audience. Draw Attention to Your Points Some people are readers and some are very appealed to visua

Beauty Tips to Prepare for Spring Now

Hello everyone! This week's blog post is about how to prepare for the warmer months that are right around the corner. I've shared 5 tips that are a part of my winter routine. Since I am a mom most of these tips are quick enough to do in 20 minutes or so. A few of them call for a little more time for your self, but that's not a bad thing right? I hope you find them helpful. 🌸Start a Foot Care Regimen:  I'm the type of person who will get an occasional pedicure during the winter months in order to keep up with maintenance, but in between pedicures I've started a few at home methods. Using a foot bath is one. I try to soak for about 20 minutes every two weeks. Along with that a good ol' pumice stone does wonders. I've also been loving at home foot masks. They are so easy and addicting and add a bit of luxury into your routine.  There are a ton of options out there. I'd say a few of them give professional pedicures a run for their money. Whatever your

Designer Sunglasses Dupe for Under $5

Happy Monday! I am excited to feature sunglasses this week. Sunglasses have always been one of my favorite accessories. They're so easy to throw on and go which I am all about. They also elevate any outfit. You can wear leggings and a pull over and still look chic. Sunglasses can be worn all year around so a great pair is a must have. The ones on today's blog are a ringer for my Prada ones AND under $5! I mean, come on. What can you find for under $5 now days? The quality is good for the price. I keep this particular pair in my car so they're there whenever I need a back up. I can also toss them in my bag and not feel guilty that they may get scratched. Check them out below!
