How to Safely Shop for Second Hand Items

A pair of vintage Levi’s that I scored at my local Goodwill I absolutely love thrifting. It's kind of a hobby of mine. I shop everywhere from consignment shops to the Goodwill. Even though it is a blast and saves so much money, thrifting (arguably) has a bad rep for some people. The most common reason is, well, you have no idea what kind of environment these items came from. I totally get it and honestly I am still super cautious because of this. I’ve shared some of the precautions that I have learned to take from thrifting over the years. Up to this day I have not had a problem with infestations or anything yucky. Leave items in the environment - I always leave the items in the baking hot or freezing cold environment for at least two days. I choose my car trunk. This way I can make sure that anything that may have been alive is no longer. This works the best on those scorching summer days or below freezing winter days. My Top Sandal Picks for Summer

It’s official! Sandal weather. How exciting is that? I am obsessed with anything that shows the toes. I’ve complied a list of a few sandals/flip flops that I am absolutely in love with. The top 4 are based on style, comfort and price. All of these are super important to me since I am a stay to home mom so I need affordable and easy to wear shoes. Stylish is a bonus, right? I rarely purchase anything that does not fit my lifestyle. Let’s take a look! Steve Madden Irenee-  probably the most comfort that you can get from a heel. I purchased dusty pink suede which acts as a great neutral for warmer weather. Irenee also comes in a ton of colors! Birkenstock Gizeh-  a great go to sandal that you can wear for hours. I wore Birkenstocks when I used to work and was constantly on my feet. They do not disappoint. They’ve also been with me

Hi Everyone! This week’s post is on updating your looks with what you already have. Here are a few tips: Accessorize  This is a no brainer but another way to have fun with what you already own. One of my favorite accessories is bracelets. Stack unexpected bracelets together for a cool look. Also, try layering necklaces and mixing metals. Shop Your Closet Shopping your closet is just as fun as shopping. Look at how you can style pieces differently from how you usually wear them. I like doing things like wearing a tunic as a dress when the weather is warmer. I also like tying flannels around my waist with shorts. How about your favorite scarf? Take it with you to the chilly movies or restaurant and wear it as a wrap. There are a ton of ways to repurpose! Look For Inspo This goes along with shopping your closet. One great way to look for inspo is on Pintrest. I actually have a board titled “ Wearable Fashion .” Here I save photos of items that I own or that are simila
